After an 18 month project, these child-centred classes end December 2012 so we can concentrate on other projects.
We learnt that even the best planned sessions must make way for the children to express their own ideas, given how little time the get for open ended exploration and divergent thinking at school.
Many thanks to Hester Berry (assisting) and all the children for their enthusiasm, creativity + wonderful work. We will look forward to seeing what you make next, and getting invited to your next exhibition!
Future Workshops + Projects
We are available from January 2013 to consider new workshops and longer projects with children and young people in schools, community, museums and other settings.
New partner Lulu Allison and Libby Davy are available together on some projects.

There is so little provision for art + true creativity during the school term + in our busy lives. So let your kids / young people do the messy stuff away from home and we’ll do the cleaning up (and get them to help too)!
THINK ABOUT THIS!!
UK study revealed 98% of 3-5 year olds are in the genius category of divergent thinkers, 10% remain as 13-15 year olds and only 2% by adulthood.
(Robinson, 2001 as cited by J, Dinham: Delivering Authentic Arts Education, 1st ed). A good argument for arts education!
We can also provide support leading up to GCSE / gentle play around career choices for older children and an ongoing relationship to help your child discover / recover creative expression and confidence.
I have many year’s experience + education in art + creative expression + holistic learning + will have assistants + specialist guest teachers (eg. cartooning, illustration, clay). If you are considering it + have something on a Wednesday, feel free to come for 1-2 taster sessions (no obligation) before making a decision.
We have brought together a lovely group of children and the more we can all forward this invitation on, the more likely friends (and liftshares!) will come together.
These photos from last Creative Retreat for Adults (https://egghouseart.com/creative-workshops-retreats/ new dates coming soon).
If you are interested in being on our email list for children’s / adult’s / family creative holiday events and other classes, just drop me a line to stay informed. We are keen to promote this new opportunity within our local community, so please forward on and help spread the word.
Wonderful experiences to be had + art/craft work to bring home. We will even be making gift cards + tags in time for Christmas… and other gifts too.
Any questions, please call 07968 687 107.
Here what dear Sir Ken Robinson has to say on the topic of creativity…
“Creativity is as important as literacy” — Ken Robinson
“Our task is to educate their (our students) whole being so they can face the future. We may not see the future, but they will and our job is to help them make something of it.”
“Imagination is the source of every form of human achievement. And it’s the one thing that I believe we are systematically jeopardizing in the way we educate our children and ourselves.”
